Good question! The numbering on the tickets that we print is much greater than the actual number of tickets that are sold in each lottery.
This is for a number of reasons which are largely related to our administrative and sales functions, whereby we have to allocate a number of tickets to different sales areas which won't all be sold for various reasons.
You can be confident that we keep tight controls and never sell more tickets than the maximum allowed, and every ticket is included in the draw.
This process is overseen by our auditors and is also a requirement in our reporting to the Government regulators in each state in which we have a permit to sell tickets, so you can be sure we only sell the number of tickets allowed to be sold.
